France in Ruins - Golden House Publications
An academically based monograph exploring the culture of ruined buildings in France. The work will introduce a range of factors that contribute to this nationwide custom, including: the French Revolution, The World Wars, French Inheritance laws and the Romantic Movement in France and the rest of the world (with a strong reference to artists and writers from the United States). As the culture slowly changes in favour of a French involvement in renovation, following decades of immigration by foreign nationals, the book will also expand upon the economic and social implications of the slow decay of the culture of ruination in France.
Publishing date: 2010.
